  1. art广义上表示“艺术”,狭义上表示“美术”,指美的事物的创造或表现,尤指用视觉形式如绘画、雕刻等,还可指“艺术技巧”,是不可数名词；表示“一种艺术〔技艺、本领等〕”时是可数名词。art引申还可表示“技能”“手艺”,有时还可指“欺诈”“奸计”“诡计”,可用作不可数名词,也可用作可数名词。
  2. art在句中可用作定语,指“关于美术或以艺术创作的”。
  3. art的复数形式arts可作“文科”解。
  4. the fine arts指文学艺术,包括油画、图画、雕刻、建筑,有时也包括舞蹈、戏剧、音乐。
