  1. borrow的基本意思是“借”,指向某人或从某处借走某物(借用不能带走的东西一般用use)。引申可表示“将别人的东西当作自己的来使用,抄袭某事物”“某语言借用另一种语言的词语”。
  2. borrow可用作及物动词,也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时,接名词或代词作宾语,可用于被动结构。
  3. borrow不用于borrow sb sth结构，被借对象一般用from或of引出，后者更正式; 与on连用时,表示“以…抵押来借款”。
  4. borrow是非延续性动词，表示“借”这一行为时不能与表示一段时间的状语连用，但在表示借来以后使用的时间时却可以和表示一段时间的状语连用。
