v. (动词)
  1. plead的基本含义是“辩护,恳求”,主要指答辩,即尽力地开脱某件事情,使其有利于自己,或为了达到某一目的而向别人提出要求。引申可指“以…作托词”。
  2. plead多用作及物动词,有时也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时,后接名词或that引导的从句作宾语。plead有时可用作系动词,后接形容词作表语。
  3. plead的过去式和过去分词在英式英语中为pleaded; 而在苏格兰和美式英语中则为pled或plead。

  • 这些动词均含“请求，恳求”之意。
  • plead指谦卑而又不失尊严地请求，侧重迫切感。
  • appeal常指以道义原则为基础或以法律为依据的请求。
