  1. 同receive不同,accept是“接受”,而receive是“收到”。accept a present是“接受一个礼物”,不会退还,而receive a present是“收到一个礼物”,有可能会退还;
  2. acceptaccept of以前可以替换使用,现accept of用的比较少,往往带有“正式”或“垂恩”之意。只适用于说接受present,favour,love,hospitality等,不适于接受theory,advice,apology,challenge,offer,invitation,ruling等;

    If you accept, please let me know immediately.

    I am pleased to accept your invitation.
    不用I shall be pleased to accept your invitation.

    She accepted my claim to be heard.

accept, believe
  • He accepted the explanation without question.
  • We no longer believed the lies spread by them.
  • accept, receive
  • Her husband did not accept〔receive〕 her story.
  • The theory was not received〔accepted〕 as truth by the broad masses of people.
  • I've received an invitation but I don't think I'll accept.
  • Though he has received several offers, he can accept only one of them.
简而言之,“accept=receive+乐意地”。
I've received your invitation.
  • accept as, consider as
  • accept,receive,admit,take
