  1. clever的基本意思是“灵巧”。可指人身体的灵巧,也可指人“心灵(思维敏捷、足智多谋)”或“手巧”。强调能较快地理解并正确掌握和应用所学的知识或技能。在口语中，clever可作“精明的,耍小聪明的”解,此时常有贬义。clever在句中可用作定语、表语或补语。
  2. clever前可用very修饰。其比较级为cleverer,最高级为cleverest。
