或“prefer...rather than”结构,相当于like better 或place before the others,因此不能用more或most来修饰它。
  7. prefer

    I prefer this to that.
    我喜欢这个,而不喜欢那个。

  2. prefer...to...和prefer...rather than...的区别,以句子I prefer going to staying和I prefer to go rather than to stay为例:第一句里的to是介词,后面接动名词,不接不定式。第二句里的rather不可省略,一般prefer后接不定式,但可将rather than to stay替换成to staying,不过因格式上不对称不常用;

I prefer to go this evening.

As a rule I prefer going in the evening.

  4. prefer

Her parents prefer her to study Russian and English.

We prefer that each new student should take this course.

  6. prefer

I prefer my milk a little sweetened.

它同prefer A to B的句型一样,后也常与介词to连用.

The first choice is preferable to the second.

  • like,love,enjoy,fancy,adore,prefer
